The Judicial Service Commission invites suitably qualified attorneys to apply for the position of
AD HOC JUDGE
Successful applicants will be placed on a roster to be published in the Turks and Caicos Islands Gazette and will be appointed as needed, to perform the duties of a Supreme Court Judge for a specified term, or case.
The appointment of an Ad Hoc Judge shall be made in accordance with s. 77(5) of the Constitution of the Turks and Caicos Islands, as amended.
The minimum qualifications/experience for the Ad Hoc Judge position shall be:
a) an Attorney at Law admitted to the Bar of any Caribbean country or territory eligible for admittance to the Bar of the Turks and Caicos Islands, a barrister or solicitor of the United Kingdom, of any other part of the Commonwealth, or of Ireland;
b) a member of the Faculty of Advocates or a Writer to the Signet of Scotland; or
c) an attorney of the Supreme Court admitted under the Legal Profession Act or under any law for the time being in force in the Islands making like provision,
and of at least ten years’ standing as such.
Serving Judicial officers may apply.
Remuneration:
Basic Salary: $147,398.00 per annum (Income Tax Free) plus Housing, Transport and Telephone Allowance.
