A Business Group in the British Virgin Islands is seeking experienced applicants for the following positions in its Accounting and Finance Department. These positions and roles are critical in driving financial performance, capital planning, and long-term value creation across a diverse portfolio of companies.

 

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for contributing to leading all aspects of the financial operations and performance of the group
  • Exercises sound judgement and makes decisions that significantly optimizes the financial position of the group for the present and future financial and budgetary projections.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and controls.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Oversee cash flow, investments, and risk management.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Manage capital structure, financing, and investor relations.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial laws and regulations
  • Implementing risk management strategies.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Owners.
  • Participates with the Owners in the development and ongoing review of the group’s mission, strategic plans, budgets, resources allocation, operational plans and policies.  
  • Demonstrates qualities as a leader and relationship builder, working to enhance relationships which are built on a high degree of trust, effective communication, teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to be available to participate in meetings and other leadership responsibilities as needed to fulfill the mission of the group
  • Develop, lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.

Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years plus experience in progressive financial management, reporting and leadership
  • Expertise in project financing
  • Success in strategic planning and financial operations.
  • Master’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Professional designation such as ACCA/CPA/MBA.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems
  • Working familiarity with corporate structures used in finance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Knowledge of British Virgin Islands' financial laws and procurement policies.

 

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Oversee the  accounts receivable portfolio
  • Preparing and issuing invoices and receipts
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc., as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
  • Assist with other accounting and finance projects
  • Assist with all accounting and finance duties and responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Five (5) years experience in accounts and finance
  • Excellent professional communication skills
  • Be computer literate and be proficient in the use of financial software and systems  including Microsoft, Excel
  • Be pleasant, punctual, organized, responsible and able to function independently where necessary
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Knowledge of proper accounting procedures and policies.
