JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTING OFFICER - TREASURY
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Oversee and manage the Group’s overall financial asset portfolio. Ensuring liquidity, managing cash flow, and mitigating financial risks.
Working either directly or indirectly with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), to generate cash forecasts, or sensitivity scenarios to inform cash planning and investment strategies.
Role will also be responsible for maintaining a healthy and collaborative relationship with financial partners, including financial institutions, National Housing Trust (NHT), and related parties.
DIRECT REPORT: Financial Controller (Indirectly to: Chief Financial Officer)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Cash Monitoring and Management:
- Assist in the preparation of daily cash reports, cash withdrawals from financial institutions, monitoring of bank account balances, and reconciliation of deposits to the various bank and GL accounts.
- Assist in the determination and processing of interbank transfers to facilitate payments.
- Review of petty cash reimbursement requests, ensuring proper controls are in place upon reviewing petty cash forms.
- Provide weekly reports to the Financial Controller to support cash flow forecasting.
- Prepare cash forecasts and analyze variances to drive financial decision-making
- Develop and maintain relationships with banking partners to support treasury operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial strategies
Debt Borrowing Monitoring and Management:
- Assist in the coordination and management for new and existing debt agreements.
- Lead the annual review process with the respective financial institutions for loans and leases facilities.
- Track and monitor all company loans (short and long-term) for: (a) compliance with debt agreement, and repayment terms, (b) ensure loan drawdowns, repayments and interest costs are reflected in cash projections
- Track and monitor all leases for compliance.
- Assist in the management of Insurance Premium Financing (IPF) agreements.
- Preparation of monthly reports and reconciliations for all loans, leases and mobilization, ensuring timely identification and transfer of entries by month-end.
- Track and monitor project mobilization agreements to ensure compliance and adherence to repayment parameters.
Other General Tasks:
- Maintain and monitor key financial schedules, including Miscellaneous Receivables and Miscellaneous Income.
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts to the general ledger monthly.
- Assist with the development and recommendation of new ideas towards liquidity management and risk mitigation.
- Support the implementation of treasury management systems and processes.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned, and that is within the scope of your general duties.
EXPECTATIONS:

- Successful management and resolution of cash management issues within agreed timelines.
- Maintenance of full compliance with debt and other financial agreements and regulatory standards relating to the Group’s.
- Managing finance related costs through the optimization of the financial asset portfolio.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance or Equivalent.
- Minimum three to five years’ experience of related work experience.
- ACCA and/or CPA qualification would be an asset.
