We are looking for an experienced Accounting Officer to keep up-to-date accounting records and execute accounting activities.

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Officer to keep up-to-date accounting records and execute accounting activities, to including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a strong quantitative background, along with a proven track record of successfully handling time sensitive tasks and deliverables. The ideal candidate should be a team player with great communication skills and should be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Update accounts receivable entries and issue invoices accordingly.
  • Update accounts payable entries and perform periodic reconciliations.
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting as well as financial guidelines.
  • Assist with the reviewing of expenses, processing of payroll payments, etc.
  • Update financial data into our accounting software to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports as assigned.
  • Monitor and implement all accounts payable check activation and wire transactions.
  • Administer all bank transactions and oversee data recording and reconciliation procedures monthly.
  • Provide support to the safe keeping of internal expenses and the verification of the accuracy of invoices submitted both internally and externally.
  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions while maintaining records of business costs, such as labour, materials, etc.
  • Support monthly and annual close processes.
  • Assist with all other reasonable accounting projects which maybe assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BSc Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Proven work experience as an Accounting Officer or similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks
