ACCOUNTANT & FINANCE MANAGER

A dynamic and leading Micro Finance Company is seeking to fill the following position Accountant & Finance Manager.

ACCOUNTANT & FINANCE MANAGER

The Accounting & Finance Manager will direct and oversees the financial activities of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily financial operations, preparing financial reports, budgets and performing financial planning. The individual must be familiar with the micro finance industry and have extensive knowledge of trends, activities and players and will be required to do among other things the following:

Key Responsibilities/Functions

1. Overseeing the operations of the Accounts/Finance Department to ensure the achievement of the department ‘s goals and objectives.
2. Maintaining and updating the Company’s accounting policies and procedures as the need arises.
3. Involved in the strategic planning and development of new products.
4. Analyze and interpret the financial information that will aid corporate executives in making sound decisions.
5. Preparing financial reports for companies under the group along with the creditors, regulatory agencies and tax authorities.
6. Conducting financial forecasting/budgeting for planning purposes.
7. Control and analyze the accounts of the company, ensuring where there are inaccuracies that the proper adjustments are made.
8. Providing recommendations and advice to the Board on strategic financial matters.

Qualification /Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Management from an accredited university
• ACCA Level 2
• Five years or more experience in the management of an accounting/finance department
• Extensive Knowledge of Accounting Systems and Controls
• Knowledge and experience with SAGE50, Peach Tree, QuickBooks or any other reputable ERP accounting software
• Experience in Loan Accounting would be an asset.
• A critical thinker with exceptional analytical and organizational skill
