The ICT TECHNICAL HEAD OF DEPARTMENT is responsible for the management of the ICT Technical department which performs the design, implementation, support and maintenance of Voice & Data customized solutions via microwave and fiber

JOB SUMMARY
The ICT TECHNICAL HEAD OF DEPARTMENT is responsible for the management of the ICT Technical department which performs the design, implementation, support and maintenance of Voice & Data customized solutions via microwave and fiber to corporate customers throughout Trinidad and Tobago. The ICT department is also the department responsible for the GPON core (AAA, BRAS, DNS, DHCP), the Fixed Switch and the Hosted PBX platform.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Maintain 100% up time of the GPON core, Fixed switch and Hosted PBX
  2. Solution design approval - Create and/or approve all network designs for all customer solutions. Provide technical advice to technical presales on requirements gathering and solution design.
  3. Design Standardization - Ensure technical design standards establishment and compliance for all new customer designs and solutions.
  4. Change Control - Ensure that all changes implemented by the team are compliant with the company change management policies.
  5. Solution Delivery - Manage the delivery of all solutions ie. Voice E1s, Hosted PBX, DIAs, Leased circuits (MPLS), Broadband via both microwave and fiber.
  6. Road mapping - Ensure alignment of the ICT technical product road map with the business roadmap. Innovate and drive changes to the business product roadmap based on technology capabilities.
  7. Capacity management - Manage the capacity of the technical elements comprising the ICT network and ensure that at all times, sufficient capacity buffer exists for a six month planned growth.
  8. Project management - Create scopes, time plans, risk management and communication plans for all customer deployments and network technology upgrades or expansions.
  9. Manage/ Lead the ICT Technical department to ensure teams have the tools, training, and knowledge to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of our internal and external customers.
  10. SLA Management - Measure and report on SLAs for customer implementation and support and ensure that the department is able to consistently meet all SLAs and commitments.
  11. Service Quality Management - Measure and report on ICT customer service KPIs and KQIs and ensure that all customers' circuits are consistently within thresholds.
  12. Cost Management - Constantly review the cost for deployment of all customer solutions and drive the cost of implementation down.
  13. Team management - Ensure that the team is scaled to manage all tasks. Provide weekly dashboard reports to demonstrate the productivity.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS
  • BSc. Electrical and Computer Engineering / Computer Science / ICT or related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years experience performing similar role / duties.
  • Experience at a managerial level in an ICT environment
  • Experience in PBX systems/ solutions
  • Experience in Microwave networks
  • Experience in Fiber networks including GPON
  • Experience in the Operation and maintenance of Cloud Telephony systems would be considered a valuable asset.
  • Experience in an ISP environment would be considered a valuable asset.
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
