The Claims Customer Service representative is responsible for obtaining information from Insureds and Third Parties along with processing and settling small insurance claims promptly and accurately.

Job Description:

  • Reviews insurance contracts to determine coverage and liability.
  • Deals with walk-in-clients and provides assistance with claim reports, as well as responding to queries.
  • Prepares insurance claims forms and related documents to required standard.
  • Surveys damaged vehicles for walk-in-clients.
  • Records claims information on the computer system ensuring that data is accurate and complete.
  • Collates all necessary documents for claims settlement and prepare Claim files.
  • Evaluates and settle claims within limits of authority.
  • Contacts clients, claimants, experts, and service providers on timely basis to facilitate the claims process and quality customer service.
  • Liaises with brokers/insureds to obtain outstanding claim reports
  • Maintains register of reported claims by third parties and provides systematic follow up to Brokers/Insureds on outstanding claim reports.
  • Maintains proper records as required.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of a team environment by performing other related duties.
 
Qualifications/Experience:
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar position
  • Minimum of five (5) CSEC passes including English and Mathematics, and two (2) CAPE passes
  • Diploma Claims Administration or Diploma Claims Adjusting/Investigation, or at least three years’ experience in Claims or an equivalent combination or working experience and education
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
