Civil Engineer: Jamaica 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, constructing, supervising, and maintaining various infrastructure projects. As a Civil Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure that projects are completed safely, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and buildings.

• Prepare detailed construction plans and specifications.

• Analyse the load-carrying capacities of structures to ensure safety and stability.

• Conduct geotechnical investigations to assess soil properties and determine appropriate foundation designs.

• Manage and supervise construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project success.

• Perform hydraulic and hydrological calculations for the design of drainage systems and hydraulic structures.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for construction projects.

• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements by attending conferences, workshops, and seminars.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.

• Three or more years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on consulting and contracting.

• Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP2000, or similar software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

• Experience with project management and budgeting.
