The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica) seeks to identify experienced candidates to fill the following position:

Technical Project Manager

DESCRIPTION:
The Technical Project Manager’s responsibilities will include managing implementation, integration, and content build project through defining and executing project plans, assisting in the assignment of appropriate resources, ensuring adherence to project scope, taking actions to ensure deadlines can be met if/when project conditions change, and communicating project status to key stakeholders and clients.

Requirements:
The preferred applicant should possess:
• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems (MIS), computer science or another engineering-related field.
• Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP Certification)
• Five (5) years of project management experience
• Demonstrated understanding of project management processes, theories, practice strategies, and methods.
• Sound knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools.
• Sound knowledge of business process mapping or operational redesign /improvement
• Strong understanding and familiarity with common project management methodologies
• Understanding of digital project management and design/development terminology.
• Sound understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
• Excellent ability to independently manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and project team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others.
• Excellent people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, project management skills
