MRI of Trinidad and Tobago is a leading provider of magnetic resonance imaging services nationally and regionally, and we are seeking experienced candidates for the position of:

 

SENIOR MRI TECHNOLOGIST

 Full time or part time

 The Senior MRI Technologist’s primary focus will be to perform MRI Scans on a 1.5T MRI system while ensuring the highest standard of efficiency, efficacy and safety. The Technologist will also be required to oversee the proper care for the equipment, patient instruction on exams, and the accurately logging and documentation of patient-related information.

 Duties:

  • Performs MRI scans.
  • Responsible for safely screening and positioning patient for scanning including transferring patients on and off scan table and utilizing immobilization devices as appropriate and necessary.
  • Impart knowledge to other MRI Technologists on scan protocols, positioning and physiology as well as MR Physics to produce optimum results.
  • Responsible for infection control and safety adhering to International Standards.
  • Responsible for the transferring of all images to the Radiology Information Systems/PACS.
  • Responsible for the capturing of pertinent clinical documentation for each patient.
  • Responsible for reporting equipment failure, shortage of supplies to Operations Manager and making the initial call for service.
  • Enforcing all government and industry regulatory guidelines including those on patient privacy issues.
  • Calibrates and performs all required periodic quality assurance on equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in MR imaging from a recognized institution.
  • 10 years professional experience and a minimum of 5 years as a stand-alone MRI Technologist.
  • Excellent organization and communication strengths are essential. Must be flexible regarding work schedule.
