Our Environment

VL Limited (VL) is a wholesale appliance distribution company in Trinidad and Tobago.  At present, VL distributes well-known brands such as General Electric (GE), LG, Samsung and DAKO, with a range of products such as stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers and televisions. As of August 2012, VL limited was purchased by One Caribbean Media and now forms part of the OCM Group.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and coordinates sales visits with existing clients
  • Procures purchase orders in line with monthly sales target
  • Solicits and establishes new business/clients
  • Demonstrates and presents products to new and existing clients
  • Provides information relating to product care and warranty of products in keeping with the Company’s policies
  • Conducts market research on retail price point of the products distributed by VL Limited as well as similar products distributed by the competitors
  • Reviews sales performance and establishes purchase projections for individual clients
  • Collects customer payments via cheque or cash and return to Accounts for processing
  • Prepares and provides receipts for all payments collected
  • Manages customers accounts by balancing sales and collections in order to ensure that clients stay within the approved credit limits and terms of payment
  • Delivers customer invoices and statements on schedule or as required by the customer
  • Prepares weekly/monthly reports on sales and collections for the management team
  • Attends products training sessions and meetings with suppliers
  • Any other duties which are incidental or consequential to the above, as may be assigned by the Head of Distribution or other senior personnel as advised.

Education and Experience:

  • A First Degree in Sales or Marketing
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years’ sales experience in a distribution type business
  • Diverse sales and management experience
  • Track record of superior performance
  • Ability to create new and maximize existing accounts by analysing Company needs
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer Literate with a working knowledge of Excel
  • Must possess strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Must be customer service oriented.
