A leading distributor in the food service industry is looking for an experienced Sales Associate who will be responsible for selling food products and services to companies.

The Sales Associate will be responsible for visiting hotels, restaurants, and other entities to deliver presentations and take orders.  They should be able to:

  • Visit/ contact customers and provide information and assistance with queries about products and services.
  • Complete sales transactions and follow up with customer accounts to ensure sound credit status is maintained.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure products are delivered on time and in accordance with customers’ expectations.
  • Maintain an active awareness of merchandise, promotions, and advertisements.
  • Develop new markets and accounts by utilizing the current relationships and building new relationships in the food service channel.
  • Develop new business and promote distributors’ product lines.
  • Manage and develop new customers, while maintaining existing sales within assigned customers and a given sales territory.
  • Coordinate with logistics team and stay aware of shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
  • Develop a daily/weekly call list and maintain information accuracy monthly.
  • Review daily sales reports.
  • Review monthly the best monitoring sales report with management to determine if goals and objectives are being met.
  • Communicate trends/pricing issues and other unique issues as it relates to sales.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
  • Analyze territory and monitor performance results, daily call reports and weekly work plans.

 Preferred Skills

  • Proven work experience in sales preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Sound understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Track record of over-achieving sales quota
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner.
  • Availability to work flexible days/ hours.
  • Minimum Diploma in Marketing or related field
