SOLLUTIONS MANAGER (AC)

Summary:

The Solutions Manager, AC will manage the performance and success of the Commercial AC Division and to manage project execution on behalf of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide overall management of projects to ensure profitability and quality.

  • Prepare purchase requisitions for equipment, materials or sub-contracts required for processing by other team members ensuring that all materials and services are procured in the most financially beneficial manner.
  • To consult with client/architects/engineers to ensure that design intentions are met and full customer satisfaction achieved as well as providing technical information or advice if required.
  • To review and verify all billings presented to the Departments in a timely manner, and before they are forwarded for approval and payment.
  • To successfully manage projects to ensure achievement of annual sales and profit targets for the Engineered Systems department as determined and outlined in our yearly budget document.
  • To assume responsibility for all materials and equipment (on site or off) ensuring their integrity and safety at all time.
  • To liaise with the Service team on scheduling, costing, equipment type and quantity for completed projects requiring maintenance/service.
  • To compile project hand over documents inclusive of start-up sheets, product manuals and as-built drawings.
  • To develop and expand the sub-contractor base to ensure that the projected increase in market share and workload is well backed by available resources.
  • To direct the operations of the department including delegation of duties to team members as appropriate, training and mentoring and team building.
  • To assign/reassign personnel responsibility, train and retrain personnel, procure additional resources where necessary and to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • To submit monthly reports on all activities within the department including update on project status and profitability.
  • To liaise with equipment suppliers regarding projects on hand, equipment specifications and developments in the industry such as new products or systems.
  • To assist the Commercial Sales Department as required in the preparation of tenders, specifically related to design and equipment selection.
  • To ensure consistent adherence to all company and department systems and procedures (inclusive of AX “live” status) so that operational efficiency and industry accepted quality are achieved.
  • To develop and maintain relationships with key industry players (Architects, Engineers, Contractors) to gain entry into all available windows of business opportunity.
  • To provide technical and other assistance to Divisional staff in the company’s interest.
  • To share information and expertise within the company and with inter-group interests (this may involve pre-set monthly or quarterly meetings with managers in addition to existing scheduled managers meetings) to enhance growth and coverage potential.
  • To work together with the management team to identify and pursue new areas of business growth.
  • To efficiently execute any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Participate in the development of and perform all duties in accordance with the procedures set forth in ISO 9001: 2000 standards and the Company’s Quality manual and OSHA standards.
  • Promote safety awareness and the development of a safety culture within the company.
  • Compliance with company Policies.

 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related area of study a
  • Four to five years experience as a General Manager
  • Technical A/C expereince
  • Must possess prior experiencin working with various relevant computer databases, Windows, word processing and spreadsheet programmes in facilities management programmes
  • Attends to Detail – Ensures data accurate and work is thorough and to the highest standard
  • Decision Making – Improve the speed and direction of decisions by clarifying and setting goals, sharing perspectives on reality and creating consensus on a way forward (action steps).
  • Demonstrates ability to work efficiently with multiple deadlines and changing priorities
  • Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation in all interactions.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision
