We're hiring a regional Sales Lead

The Regional Sales Lead designs and implements sales strategies that will see our client achieving sustained YOY sales growth. He/She will use his/her creativity and knowledge of sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and market share thereby driving profits.
  • Drive increased sales through various innovative and creative sales techniques and increased focus on sales.
  • Develop sales policies and procedures to drive sales including after-sales services and customer relationship management.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing sales quotas for routes/territories and teams as well as analyze sales trends and reports.
  • Periodic review of route plans to maximize sales and ensure full coverage.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Project expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Identify and report opportunities for new product growth as well as increase business opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board.
  • Identifying potential new markets for the company’s products or services via research, analysis, and meetings with potential clients
  • Present sales, revenue, and expense reports and realistic forecasts to the management team weekly
  • Consolidate internal price control program for all products, implementing and administering pricing alignment.
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts to better understand their needs and resolve their complaints.
  • Manage objectives setting, training, coaching, and performance monitoring of sales representatives.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Assist the sales team in becoming the preferred supplier and/or category champion for key customers.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics of the sales team and suggest improvements.
  • Motivate, train, and direct the sales supervisor and sales staff.
  • Ensure submission of weekly sales activity reports by sales staff using the template provided or refined template.
  • Liaise with Marketing and New Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the implementation of internal controls across sales and affiliate departments to drive efficiency.
  • Work with Human Resources to create and implement department guidelines/ policies/ procedures consistently to ensure expectations are clearly understood.
  • Ensure that all critical control points are compliant and monitored following the Food Safety/HACCP Plan as well as the quality plan • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI):
  1. Prospect and develop new and existing routes and customer accounts.
  2. Achieve YOY sales growth and hit sales targets consistently.
  3. Devise sales targets that are SMART – specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
  4. Lead nationwide sales team members to achieve 90% sales targets.
  5. Achieve YOY reduction in returns with returns not being more than 5%.
  6. Ensure the maintenance of a 90% service level ratio.
  7. Ensure that each route is profitable and achieves its quota.

  8. Communication and team management skills are also essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the success of all Sales strategies. This candidate will be knowledgeable about the market and our competitive advantages to best recommend new sales strategies for success.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Tertiary education in Operations, Business Management, or similar program of study.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles and baking techniques.
  • Experience working in a production and or manufacturing environment.
  • Successful track record in food preparation.
  • Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, and/or relevant role is an asset.
  • IT literate - fully conversant in Microsoft Office applications: WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
