Technical Services Department – Portable Fire Technician

Summary of Position:

The Portable Fire Technician would provide service efficiently and with pride to effectively satisfy the requirements of the department and its customers. We are looking for individuals interested in growing and developing within a company and has the business acumen for Technical excellence. 

  • Provide the necessary work needed to service, repair and inspect fire protection equipment (portable) and also for the supply air breathing apparatus (SCBA & SAR). This will also include the pressure testing and repairs on fire hoses and breathing air cylinders
  • Refill fire extinguishing equipment and also the breathing air cylinders and FM200 refills
  • Directly report to the Supervisor of the Portables Section to ensure that all the proper paper work procedures are followed and kept in place at all times with respect to service calls, in-house and on-site
  • Clean and tidy the Fire Room with respect to the work area, stock room, display area and office in general
  • Maintain and update computerized system for recording equipment service history and follow-up
  • Conduct product and procedure demonstrations for in-house personnel and customers
  • Be available for unscheduled, out of the normal working hours, on call work that may arise from time to time
  • Produce and submit reports and other documents as per service work and site visits are conducted on a day to day

Requirements:

  • Diploma in or Pursuing M.E.E.T 
  • Certificate in Pump Repair and or Technical Writing would prove an asset. 
  • Minimum Experience 2+ Years’ Experience
  • Computer Literacy with proficiency in Windows and Ms Office (Word, Excel)
  • Experience working within the oil and gas sector will be an asset.
