Responsible for the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements of various holding companies as well as completion of various Head Office reporting templates to support RBC’s monthly, quarterly and annual reporting practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial and Statutory Reporting

Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for the consolidated RBC Financial Caribbean Group and various holding companies administered by Group Finance including RBTT Finance, ABC Holdings, RBC Financial Caribbean Limited and Royal Overseas.

Prepare business plans for the various holding companies and RBC Financial Caribbean Limited.

Prepare monthly sub-group consolidated financial statements and disclosure notes for inclusion in the Group’s consolidated results.

Prepare various reporting templates for use by RBC Head Office.

Develop a working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).  This knowledge will be used to critique the subsidiaries’ financial statements to ensure compliance with all accounting and disclosure requirements. 

Interacts with and provides accounting guidance to subsidiaries on related transactions with the various holding companies.

Assisting and in some instances completing adhoc requests for group financial information.

Ongoing process evaluation to improve efficiency of the existing information gathering, accounting and reporting mechanisms.

Prepare annual income tax returns and VAT returns for all applicable companies and liaise with Head – Taxation on various tax issues affecting these companies.

Assist in the preparation of various Board of Directors’/Audit Committee reporting requirements for RBCFCL Group and other holding companies.

Staff Development and Teamwork

Liaise with members of the other Finance units in areas of collaborative work in consolidated financial reporting.

Responds efficiently to information internal/external requests.

Engages proactively in personal professional development through training, courses, professional qualifications and research.  It is expected that this will be achieved though a combination of personal and organization time and projects undertaken by Group Finance.        

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Professional Accounting certification ACCA, CPA, CA required
  • 5 years experience in the accounting function preferably in the financial services sector
  • Familiarity with accounting operations of banks
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS) in the preparation of financial statements
  • Ability to identify and implement best practices
