We are looking for a talented individual who shares our values to join our team as Manager - Financial Reporting. This position reports to the Divisional Finance Lead of GCG and the Group Financial Controller of GEL.

THE ROLE: 

We are seeking to recruit a highly numerate, self-motivated individual to join the Division’s management team.  The successful candidate will have the responsibility of providing financial support and guidance to the Catering Division and support to the Group Financial Controller.

The position will be based at the GEL Head Office in Barbados.

 

The Manager - Financial Reporting’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support to the Cluster Financial Controllers across the Division
  • Work with the Group auditors and Cluster Financial Controllers across the Division to ensure that all audit issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Review all financial reports (and other reports) before submission to Head Office
  • Review of all Budget reports before submission to Head Office
  • Provide guidance on the application of IFRS across the Division
  • Liaise between Group Finance and Divisional Finance team
  • Track and report any inaccuracies related to accounting and reports to Divisional Finance Lead (GCG) and the Group Financial Controller (GEL)
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller (GEL) in reviewing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reports
  • Assist in the annual group audit and preparation of the annual report

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • A professional accounting designation (ACCA, CGA/CPA)
  • 3-5 years’ post qualification experience in a senior role
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and their application
  • High numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A team player with the ability to work in cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Deadline-driven with excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate with a strong background in information technology particularly with regard to knowledge of accounting software packages
