The successful candidate will be required to oversee the Corporate Compliance Program. In addition to ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulatory agencies, industry codes of practice, company policies and procedures, etc.

MAJOR DUTIES INCLUDE

 

  • Develop and implement the NIBTT’s Compliance Program in a manner that fulfils the mission and strategic goals of the organization.
  • Perform and/or oversee periodic Compliance Program reviews and recommend appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement systems, policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities.
  • Collaborate with other functions to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
  • Develop and implement the NIBTT’s Corporate Compliance Risk Management Strategy.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Ensure reporting of violations or potential violations to the duly authorized parties as appropriate and as required and collects, evaluates and maintains data concerning compliance exceptions and implementation of recommendations to treat with these exceptions.
  • Provide reports to the Management Team and the Board on a regular basis and as directed.
  • Lead, facilitate and advise Departmental Heads in designing Compliance Programs within their own departments.
  • Conduct reviews across the NIBTT with the assistance of the Business Units Managers to ensure the implementation of the Compliance Program within respective Business Units.
  • Institute and maintain an effective compliance communication program for the organization.
  • Complete annual Enterprise Wide Compliance Risk Assessment.
  • Support the implementation of the Corporate Governance Framework, Risk Management and Ethics Framework.
  • Participates in or facilitates committees related to compliance management.
  • Monitors legislative developments and practices, general economic conditions, industry trends and changes within the environment that may impact the NIBTT.
  • Ensures that the NIBTT’s compliance framework complies with Central Bank requirements
  • Protects assets by establishing compliance standards, anticipating emerging compliance trends and designing improvements for implementation.
  • Performs other related duties.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Education:

  • Post Graduate Degree in Compliance Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Management, or Professional Qualifications (e.g. ACCA, Compliance, Internal Audit or CMA)

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years Compliance Management experience, preferably in the Financial Services or Social Services industry.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years experience at a Senior Management Level.
