invites applications for the positions of Licensing Inspector and Licensing Officer
The successful candidates will have:
• A'first degree in Business, Sales or Marketing
• A minimum of3 years experience in sales in a customer-focused environment
• Working knowledge of accounting
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• The ability to work to strict deadlines
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills,
• Strong organizational skills,
• Great leadership, supervisory and motivational skills,
• Working knowledge of various computer applications
• A reliable motor vehicle
Knowledge of the music industry and copyright would be a distinct advantage
The Licensing Inspector's primary role is to seek out and identify unlicensed music users who are not
exempt by law; to issue licences; to collect payment as promptly as practicable; and to investigate possible
infringement of works owned or controlled by the Society. S/he will be responsible for the licensing of
copyright music in Jamaica and must be a committed team player who is both self-motivated and result
oriented. The capacity for effective strategic planning, and budgeting to ensure growth and viability is
essential. S/he must reside in the zone of assignment:
Zone 1- Hanover, Westmoreland, St. James, St. Elizabeth
Zone 2- Trelawney, Manchester, St. Ann, Clarendon
Zone 3-' Kingston, St. Catherine, St. Thomas, Portland, St. Mary
The Licensing Officer is responsible for the timely provision of accurate invoices for all types of licensing
in Jamaica and for developing new opportunities for licensing. S/he will be responsible for verification, and
will liaise with clients and Licensing Representatives in the field. The preparation of invoices and contracts
as well as the requisite follow up to ensure the prompt settlement of invoices are the core functions of the
position.
All activities must be geared toward maintaining the highest level of service to JACAP members and
licensees and must conform to the guidelines and standards set by the organization and affiliates and
to all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
