Junior Resident (HPC/MO 1 - Level 14)

Under the supervision of a Resident or Consultant, the incumbent will be responsible for administering professional medical care to patients in the hospital.

(salary range J$6,799,334 - J$8,082,271 per annum and any allowance (s) attached to the post)

FIRMS REQUIRED: Anaesthesiology & Accident & Emergency

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School (M.B.B.S)

• Satisfactory completion of Internship and Senior House Officer Programme(s)

• Registration with the Medical Council of Jamaica

Key Responsibilities

1. Must see all admissions, examine them, determine their management and make appropriate notes in the dockets.

2. Assisting with the follow-up of ward cases, with notes in the dockets.

3. Assisting in preparation of discharge summaries, death certificates and other relevant documentation as required.

4. Assisting with the training of interns in special procedures, methods of management, etc.

5. Carrying out or assist with such procedures as are within his competence.

6. Seeing referrals from other firms and departments, and make referrals, ensuring they are acted upon.

8. Performing post Mortems and attending court as witness in Medico-Legal cases, if necessary
