Human Resource Manager- Western

Based in St. James 

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Human Resource Manager to lead our HR functions in the Western Division. This pivotal role is responsible for implementing HR policies and procedures, enhancing workplace harmony, and managing comprehensive HR functions including compensation, benefits, welfare programs, recruitment, selection, placement, and coordinating the performance appraisal process for Division’s staff.

 

OTHER Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategically manage HR operations, ensuring effective recruitment, selection, and placement of employees.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, enhancing employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement staff welfare and personal development programs to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Administration of collective labour agreements and grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Act as a key advisor on policy interpretation, and participate in labour management negotiations.
  • Coordinate in collaboration with the Training Department, training and development initiatives based on thorough needs analysis to promote continuous learning.
  • Oversee administrative functions, ensuring the division meets its operational targets effectively.
  • Oversee the administration of leave, salaries, benefits, and orientation for new and transferred employees.
  • Implement and recommend for update the company's personnel policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and contributing to a supportive work environment.
  • Coordinate performance appraisal activities, ensuring all divisional employees are fairly evaluated.
  • Develop and maintain a Succession Planning Database to support staff development and organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with the Safety and Security Department to enhance workplace safety and security measures.
  • Provide expert counsel and conflict resolution, develop staff welfare and personal development programs.

Ideally, the successful applicant should possess:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Development, or equivalent qualifications.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in Human Resource Management, including at least three (3) years at a managerial level.
  • A robust understanding of Jamaica’s Labour Laws, Staff Orders, Public Service Regulations, and the framework of Industrial Relations within Jamaica.
  • Profound knowledge of Human Resource Management Practices and Principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in managing compensation and benefits administration.
  • Strong analytical abilities coupled with excellent interpersonal, communication, and human relations skills.
