Group Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Group Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and practices, along with strong analytical skills. The Group Senior Accountant will report directly to the Director, Finance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Consolidate accounts across multiple entities or divisions, reconciling intercompany transactions and eliminating duplication.

Minimum Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Competencies

-          Minimum first Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline

-          ACCA level III or CPA professional certification

-          At least five (5) years working experience in a senior financial analyst or management role

-          Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and accounting principles

-          Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems

-          Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

-          Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

-          Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
