FINANCE MANAGER, SMJ (Beverages) Barbados

Position Profile

The SMJBB Finance Manager is responsible for the preparation of monthly Management Accounts, management of Accounts Receivables and Payables portfolios and also provides support to the General Manager in making strategic decisions.

 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Preparation of Monthly Management accounts by 8th day of each month.
  • Ensuring that Sales are closed and settled on the 1st working day of each month
  • Preparation of Weekly Provisional Reports
  • Preparation of Weekly Stock Analysis Reports
  • Preparation of Inventory Costings
  • Management of Company expenses
  • Review and Authorization of Company’s disbursements i.e. Cheques, Online Payments, Petty Cash & Purchase Orders
  • Analysis and explanation of cost variances.
  • Ensure GL Accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as outlined in the Annual Operating Plan (Budget).
  • Strict management of Accounts Receivables ensuring that there are no over 60days and 90days balances
  • Management of Returned Cheques and Unauthorized Charges
  • Management of Salesmen Shortages
  • Ensuring that all policies and procedures regarding Accounts receivables, Accounts Payables, Settlement of sales, Warehouse variances, Salesmen Shortages & Bounce cheques are followed by all respective departments so as to eliminate wastage, fraud and pilferage
  • Authorization of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Review of Bank Reconciliations
  • Ensure completion of all tasks assigned to settlement clerks and compliance to all processes on RMA & Quickbooks
  • Preparation of annual budgets.
  • Must exercise confidentiality concerning financial data and employee files.
  • Ensures workplace is always clean and in a hygienic state, free of clutter and debris
  • Engage in projects as defined by General Manager, CFO or Directors and completion of ad-hoc requests as requested
  • Perform performance appraisals on all staff members, develop training plan and administration of leave requests and vacation planning for Finance staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be ACCA qualified.
  • Must possess Accounts Receivables Management and Budgetary experience.
  • Must have at least 5 or more years of progressive experience in a Supervisory position preferably in an FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft AX Dynamics would be an asset.
  • Exceptional grasp of MS. Office, predominantly in MS. Excel.
  • Experience in QuickBooks would be an asset
