Finance Director

As Finance Director you will be responsible for the financial management of the group of companies and ensure long term financial goals are met together with the establishment of corporate values and policies. You will be required to prepare financial analysis of the operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules. You will oversee recordkeeping, accounting activities, corporate treasury, and regulatory reporting. 

Overall Responsibilities:

• Lead the formulation and implementation of long and short-term strategic plans and objectives throughout the region.
• Develop organizational plans, budgets and financial controls to meet strategic plans and objectives and ensure communication of such to appropriate internal management.
• Monitor and control risks and conduct reviews and audits of the various units.
• Ensure high standards of quality and professional financial management is met at all times.
• To ensure the financial statements and returns are prepared in compliance with requirements.
• Play a leading part in Company’s operational financial structure.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance

1. Ensure statutory, regulatory, and Company procedures are complied with.
2. Provide financial input for strategy formulating
3. Preparation of monthly financial statements
4. Prepare annual budget and perform budget vs actual analysis.
5. Ensure adequate accounting and other supporting records are maintained
6. Monitor capital expenditures and adherence to budgets
7. Diligently monitor risks and mitigating factors
8. Develop internal controls and fraud-detection measures.
9. Draft and document policy documents
10. Liaise with external auditor
11. Approval authority for A/P

Accounting

1. Daily entries of accounting activities
2. Consolidation of financial statements
3. Inter-company entries
4. Prepare and enter monthly entries
5. Review and approve all bank reconciliations
6. Cost allocation among the group entities
7. Prepare payroll and tax filings.

Reporting

1. Prepare reports for regulators
2. Prepare monthly report to the CEO
3. Prepare management accounts  
4. Report to the Board from time-to-time

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of management experience in banking or related industry is required.
• Knowledge of loan accounting and financial modeling. 
• Wide network of business contacts within the CARICOM region.
• Entrepreneurial business management orientation, sales planning, strong team-building skills
• Strong probing, communication, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively resolve complex customer and employee issues.
• Excellent financial analysis ability
• Strong written and presentation skills.
• A bachelor’s degree is required,  CPA/ ACCA/ Certified Accountant
• Willingness to travel
