Distributor Development Manager, Trinidad Tissues Limited

Job Summary

The Distributor Development Manager will report directly to the National Sales manager and will be responsible for the development of the Trinidad Tissues business within assigned distributors.  He / she will work with distributors to increase sales revenue, market share and gross margin as established in the annual Business Plan.  The incumbent, together with distributors, will work with key clients to maximize the business opportunities. He/she will manage contractual obligation between  the Company and Distributors. The incumbent should have an exceptional background in sales and marketing in Fast Moving Consumer Goods in Trinidad & Tobago.

Key Deliverables

  • Achieve the sales objectives and gross margin in accordance with budget/plans.
  • Guarantee the implementation of the distributor development business plans established in conjunction with the Distributor and the Company’s Sales & Marketing department.
  • Provide each distributor with the appropriate materials, plans and necessary support to achieve the established plans.
  • Ensure distributors acquire the appropriate support to perform promotional activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with large customers.
  • Provide updated market information for the analysis and decision making of the Sales & Marketing Department, including market conditions, trends, competitor analysis.
  • Provide support to marketing activities, such as development of consumer in-store promotions, coordinate and participate in customer promotional activities and events.
  • Track and evaluate the Distributors performance on a monthly basis month and drives improvements to maximize Distributor performance.
  • Fulfil all corporate requirements, such as: monthly reporting, potential businesses, monthly meetings, etc.
  • Identify distribution, sales and marketing needs and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Train and direct the Distributor sales and marketing teams as necessary in  the Company’s products.
  • Support efficient flow of purchase orders.
  • Liaises with  the Finance Department to provide financial support to the Distributor or final customer when needed.
  • Make suggestions and recommendations relative to such financial support.
  • Support credits and collection (accounts receivable) efforts.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualification and Working Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, marketing or any combination of relevant experience and qualifications is required.
  • An MBA in Business Management or equivalent knowledge will be an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales /distribution management experience is required.
  • Distributor management experience in Trinidad and Tobago is preferred. 
  • Knowledge and experience in the FMCG/paper Industry is highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work as an integral member of a team, yet also be able to work independently.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have a vehicle in proper working condition.
