We’re a small not-for profit organisation in the market for a young, innovative addition to our small Member Relations and Communications Department.

It’s an entry-level position however, there is the opportunity to learn and garner valuable experience in all aspects of Communications. You will be guided for all tasks that you are assigned however, communications is a dynamic, fast-paced world and as such, it is important  that you are able to remain focused and manage your time efficiently.

A portfolio/examples of previous graphics created must be submitted with this application as we produce some of our content in-house. This is also done collaboratively.

Job Summary

The Communications Assistant plays a pivotal role in cultivating trust, implementing communication initiatives, enhancing the company’s rapport with its members, customers/licensees, print and electronic media, and fostering awareness among the public and employees regarding its endeavors. He or she will play a significant role in coordinating communication efforts aimed at all stakeholders of COTT. The Communications Assistant will actively contribute to the execution of communication strategies and tactics aligned with the organization’s stated objectives, maintaining close collaboration with members, customers/licensees to ensure adherence to established standards in the company’s interactions.
He/she must provide the highest level of service to members, internal staff as well as stakeholders, and licensees, and must adhere to the guidelines and standards set by the organization and its international affiliates. Compliance with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements is mandatory at all times.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the organisation by assisting in the implementation of approved strategies and progammes for marketing and communication.
  • Assists in the creation of all social/traditional media artwork and content that is produced alongside the Member Relations and Communications Coordinator 
  • Provides support for member activities by liaising with members and service providers as required, responding to queries and requests for information.
  • Ensure that COTT keeps its members and licensees well informed by effectively sharing information regarding the role of COTT.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies. 
  • Supports the development and maintenance of a team environment by providing relief and performing other related duties 
  • Contributes to compliance and support by educating customers and stakeholders and assists in building Team COTT.
  • Ensures the optimal arrangements for activities by providing support for events, conferences, seminars, and workshops by liasising with service providers and finalising preparations as directed. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5- CXC/GCE O Levels including English 
  • 1-3  years experience in graphic design /Graphic Design Certification
    (examples required)
  • 1-3 years demonstratable experience in Social Media Management/Communications or certification 
  • 2-3 years experience in Customer Service 
  • The desired candidate should have excellent time management skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and conflict resolution.
