JOB OPPORTUNITY - CLIENT INSURANCE SPECIALIST
The Client Insurance Specialist is a full-time technical role, with responsibility for CCRIF’s core insurance activities. This role will work closely with the Senior Client Insurance Specialist (SCIS) to administer insurance policies, from issuance and claims processing to renewals; manage communications with clients at various stages in the policy cycle; and to support capacity building initiatives. The role requires a deep understanding of insurance and reinsurance, with a focus on policy wording and claims.
Main Functions and Responsibilities
Specifically, the Client Insurance Specialist will work closely with the SCIS to:
Administer the insurance policies including policy issuance, claims processing and renewals
Manage communications and correspondence with clients on policy management throughout the policy cycle
Support management in renewal strategy and related discussions
Manage the policy issuance process (policy text, invoicing)
Assist in the development of coverage options
Support management in discussions with clients and preparation of reinsurance renewals
Support with building capacity initiatives
Support post event analysis
Support CRPs and applications
Support training for clients
Qualifications and Experience
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management or Insurance AND a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar industry covering at least two of the following functions: insurance underwriting (specifically catastrophe coverages), policy issuance, claims management OR
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management or Insurance AND a minimum of 12 years’ in a similar industry covering at least two of the following functions: insurance underwriting (specifically catastrophe coverages), policy issuance, claims management.
Skills and Competencies
Insurance and reinsurance including policy wording and claims
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
Spanish speaking and writing competence are assets
