Job Summary

Responsible for providing vision and leadership for developing and supporting security initiatives. The incumbent also directs the planning and implementation of business operation and facility defenses against security breaches and vulnerability issues proactively.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement and review the Business Continuity Plan as required.
  2. Develop, implement and revise the relevant Security Management Plans for all operating facilities and projects, local and overseas.
  3. Provide security guidance to all NP personnel (local and overseas) including the issuing of security bulletins on a regular basis or on an as and when required basis.
  4. Develop, monitor and conduct security risk assessments for all activities associated with our business.
  5. Network with local law enforcement agencies and other industry partners to understand trends and develop proactive strategies to mitigate security risks.
  6. Conduct peer security reviews/audits as required.
  7. Identify security threats and monitor same as it applies to impacting on the continued operations of the asset, such as the need to increase the security at a location until a particular threat has been removed.
  8. Investigate reported security incidents.
  9. Deploy security personnel to ensure a visible security presence and to assist with the identification of potential issues.
  10. Oversee the day-to-day security program at the facilities assigned to the portfolio, which may include supervising contract security personnel and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
  11.    Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  12.    Perform any other duties as required by the job function.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent accreditation with an appropriate specialization in Security Management.
  2. Ten (10) years’ experience in security operations.
  3. Five (5) years’ or more supervisory/management experience. 

Or any other equivalent combination of qualification and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. A sound working knowledge of security best practices and legislation.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  3. Sound oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Ability to exercise initiative and discretion.
  5. Works well independently or as part of a team.
  6. Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and under pressure and within strict deadlines.
  7. Strong security management and leadership skills.
  8. Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
  9. Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a ‘hands on’, problem solving approach.
  10. Working knowledge of Port Security (ISPS) and Airport Security guidelines and mandates.
