Responsible for the sales process from inception to the execution of the order for wholesale and retail walk-in, telephone and e-mail customers. Your responsibilities include taking orders, addressing customer queries and executing the order.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and welcome them to the Service Centre.
  • Take customer orders and enter them into the system.
  • Generate invoices and process customer returns.
  • Provide customers with information on the products, pricing, and availability.
  • Assist customers with queries and provide solutions quickly.
  • Possess excellent product knowledge to inform customers and increase sales.
  • Follow up on orders being retrieved from the warehouse to prevent delay and frustration.
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items as well as new products.
  • Ensure that each customer leaves the store satisfied.
  • Drive continuous improvement by communicating customer feedback to the team and engaging in action planning to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the outside sales team with prospecting new business, organizing appointments, addressing queries, preparing quotations and managing customer expectations.
  • Clean the customer area during quiet times to ensure a neat and attractive appearance.
  • Keep counter area inventory stocked; remove or add inventory items to stimulate impulse sales; remove discontinued items from counter displays.
  • Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts.
  • Participate in company-sponsored sales promotions.
  • Attend product training meetings.
  • Be vigilant and to ensure that all inventory leaving the warehouse is appropriately documented and properly accounted for and to report to the Retail Supervisor, Head Office any instances found where this is not done.
  • Any other task which your Supervisor or the Departmental Manager may assign to you from time to time in order to discharge the purpose of the job.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Conflict management skills are an asset.
  • Knowledge of automotive products is an asset.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 CXC passes including English and Mathematics.
  • Vocational training in automotive systems or repairs will be an asset.
  • Previous work experience will be an asset.
