Job Profile:  Business Analyst   

A Telecommunications company is recruiting a Business Analyst to joint its dynamic Business Development/Project Management Team. 

The Business Analyst will identify, analyze, translate, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders and use these to inform the project development process.  

This environment is technologically driven, therefore the successful candidate must possess the required background and skill sets to integrate technology with business development needs and proactively assist the team to develop and enhance technology solutions to develop new products and optimize business processes. 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate the project strategy and planning processes in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Develop and utilize standard templates, procedures and tools for business requirements specifications.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and re-define as necessary.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements– verbally or through written documentation – to project manager, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Assist with the acquisition and deployment functions by working with the I.T. department to research software and hardware products to meet established business requirements.
  • Participate in the quality analyses of purchased solutions
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards. 

Position Requirements 

Formal Education & Certification

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems.
  • Project Management certification
  • Three to five years related work experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
  • Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
