Assistant Warehouse Manager-Ramp Services

Job Summary

Provides support to the Distribution Department by effectively overseeing, monitoring, coordinating and supervising loading activities of the Finished Product Warehouse to ensure compliance with established standards.

Main Duties:

• Directs and coordinates ramp activity of loading and unloading to provide fast and efficient services for contractors and customers.
• Verifies the accuracy of products loaded and unloaded on trucks.
• Compiles and reviews data on trucks loading and unloading times, in order to improve working activities.
• Directs preparation of loading plans for each departing truck, and ensures that workers are available for loading, unloading, and handling activities pertaining to the ramp.
• Prepares, submits and implements recommendations aimed at improving efficiency on the ramp as well as the department’s overall operations.
• Investigates causes of accidents/damages and recommends safety measures for preventing further occurrences as well as disciplinary action against employees for just cause.
• Supervises, directs, coaches and oversees the performance of subordinate staff as needed to ensure accomplishment of established performance objectives.
• Reviews performance evaluations of personnel for conformance to standards and takes necessary action to ensure adherence to performance expectations.
• Performs all and any other duties as may be assigned by the Warehouse and Dispatches Manager, other Management or authorized personnel.

Knowledge/Skills and Qualifications:

• B.Sc. Degree in Management Studies, Business Management or related field OR Diploma in Business Management and five (5) years’ experience in a similar environment.
• At least three (3) years’ warehouse and inventory control experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite at an Advanced level as well as knowledge of other relevant software programs.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory skills.
• Ability to manage resources effectively.
