ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Position Overview

The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the venue. They will play a key role in assisting with staff management, customer service, and overall venue performance, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the venue's operations, including, but not limited to, staff supervision, customer service, and facility management.
  • Cross-train in all aspects of the venue’s operations and be available to fill any position if required.
  • Support in the recruitment, training, and development of staff members to ensure high standards of performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Help to maintain a welcoming and hospitable environment for patrons, addressing any customer concerns or feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve financial targets.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels, stock ordering and maintaining cost controls to optimize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment for staff and guests.
  • Act as a liaison between management and staff, facilitating communication and fostering a positive team culture.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events to attract and retain customers.
  • Provide operational support during busy periods, including assisting with bar service, foodservice and event coordination.

Key Attributes

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality or entertainment industry, preferably in bars, restaurants or sports venues.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and mentor a team of staff members.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of bar operations, including beverage service, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the General Manager and other team members to achieve common goals.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
