We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position in the Premium Beverages Division:

AREA MANAGER - CENTRAL & SOUTH

The incumbent will be required to attain monthly predetermined Sales and Gross Profit quotas by efficiently supervising the Sales Team both on and off trade in the Central and South area.

Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:  

  • Ensuring monthly sales and gross profit quotas are achieved on the assigned routes.
  • Supervising the Sales Representatives, ensuring that routes are properly serviced and that key supplier products are visible and / or available where required.
  • Developing and maintaining a schedule for routine supervision of the routes assigned.
  • Providing an evaluation at the end of each route supervised, with recommendations for improvement.
  • Working along with assigned Sales Representatives on their routes, to implement management objectives.
  • Collecting feedback/information from new and existing customers/consumers on the performance of the company’s products, and the service provided by the Sales Representatives.
  • Identifying opportunities for sales growth with new and existing customers.
  • Ensuring that complete stock checks are conducted periodically.
  • Ensuring the visibility of the Company’s products in the trade through signage and other promotional initiatives as directed.
  • Providing efficient customer service ensuring that good relationships with customers are maintained.
  • Responsible for enforcing/ensuring that respective teams adhere to the Company’s policy for customer accounts management.
  • Assisting the administrative staff in maintaining up-to-date records of sales force absences and submits relevant reports monthly.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Diploma level qualification in Sales or Marketing; A Bachelor’s Degree would be an asset
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a FMCG Sales environment, with at least two (2) years at a supervisory level
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
