Architectural Technologist

The Architectural Technologist will use an architect’s specifications to create detailed drawings for architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by the Development team.

Job Summary:

The Architectural Technologist  will use an architect’s specifications to create detailed drawings for architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by the Senior Architectural technologist and Development team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) software and traditional architectural drawing methods to create full-scale and detailed designs of buildings and interiors.
• Studies building codes and regulations and determines how they will affect architectural designs.
• Organizes structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.
• Must be able to design and implement design from the conceptual design stage through the design development and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with Structural, and MEP Consultants to determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
• Draws plans for foundations, buildings, and structures based on instructions provided by engineers and architects.
• Knowledge of Planning submittal Process and OPS.
• Assisting with Feasibility studies for Potential Real Estate developments.
• Visits job sites to examine space and site requirements needed to complete designs.
• Determines the types of materials needed and calculates the quantity to be ordered.
• Working with an architect, generates cost estimates, contracts, and other documents required for individual projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Knowledge of architecture and math.
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD software, Revit Architecture and Sketchup.
• Able to work with own initiative with Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• Degree in architectural technology or a related field.
• 3+ years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites.
