Accounting Assistant - Deposits & AR

This role is focused on processing cash and cash-related transactions, whilst providing good customer service and general support to internal and external customer

We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position in the Accounts Department:

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT – DEPOSITS & AR

Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:  

• Processes and records cash, LINX, credit card and charge payments in VAI
• Updating of customer records in VAI
• Issues receipts and validates all transactions
• Disburses cash to internal and external customers
• Processes Insurance payments and miscellaneous transactions
• Balances all cash and cash related transactions at the end of each business day
• Processes all customer payments and post-dated cheques as assigned
• Follows-up on aged receivables as assigned and other applicable transactions on customers’ accounts

Knowledge & Experience:

• Completion of Level I ACCA / FIA or in progress of Level II FIA
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of an Accounting software package will be an asset
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
