The Chief Accountant will apply accounting principles & procedures to analyze financial information and assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements while ensuring appropriate accounting & internal control procedures.

The Accountant is responsible for supervising accounts staff, maintaining the general ledger & financing reporting system. The Chief Accountant will apply accounting principles & procedures to analyze financial information and assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements while ensuring appropriate accounting & internal control procedures.

Reporting to the Director; Finance & Administration, the Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Prepare monthly financial statement
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and processing of financial information data.
  • Plan, coordinate, direct, supervise the day to day activities of the department in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that the company honors its statutory obligation, regulatory and legal requirement, policies and procedures on a timely basis.
  • Drive continual improvement in the associated systems and process and maintain appropriate internal controls in safeguarding the company’s assets and its financial systems.
  • Responsible for general ledgers and sub ledgers and balance sheet accounts
  • Maintaining the integrity of the company’s accounting system by reviewing the validity of documentation and property of all accounting transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of Audit Schedules

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

       ·          Minimum of a First Degree in Business Administration/Accounts from a recognized tertiary institution; ACCA level II or its equivalent in type and scope.

       ·          Minimum of three (3) years accounting experience.
