Our financial services client in Bermuda is seeking an AVP Finance with 3 years treasury experience within the financial services industry.

On behalf of our client we are seeking a suitably qualified individual for the position of Assistant Vice President of Finance. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Vice President, and will work closely with the EVP, Group Capital Markets and Treasury Head of Internal Audit. The Assistant Vice President will be responsible for reporting Treasury financial results and ensuring all treasury transactions are appropriately recorded. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing or reviewing relevant statically and treasury reports and will be responsible for independent review and daily monitoring and reporting of treasury limits positions.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the head of finance in two jurisdictions in maintaining accurate accounting records for all Treasury activities including monthly reconciliation for all treasury investments, foreign exchange transactions and derivatives and inter-company transactions

  • Supporting the EVP, Group Capital Markets and Treasury with analysis on treasury financial results, preparation of the annual budget, and ad hoc reporting requests

  • Preparing the daily Treasury profit and loss and cost funds reports

  • Preparing monthly commentary on Treasury financial results compared to plan

  • Timely production of specified Treasury reports for internal and external recipients (i.e. Group Daily Deposits, NIM Reports, structural FX position reports)

  • Responsible for all treasury-related US GAAP standards and the preparation of quarterly and related year-end note disclosures and data submissions to Group Finance

Experience should include:

  • University degree in Accounting designation (CA, CPA) with a minimum of three years regulatory and treasury accounting experience gained from working in the financial services industry

  • Strong understanding of integrated complex systems and associated interfaces

  • Ability to work unsupervised under pressure in order to meet strict reporting deadlines and to plan and priorities workloads

  • Proficient in analyzing market data, liquidity and other balance sheet changes

  • Superior communication and diplomatic skills and ability to digest, communicate and present complex data clearly

  • Working knowledge of Trade0Thru and FCUBS and SAP would be preferable

  • Ability to travel to travel and work extended hours when needed

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Excel as well as database applications
