AERONAUTICAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS LIMITED

The company was established in 1978 and its operations are regulated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).  This year it celebrates its Fortieth Anniversary.

AEROTEL began the operation of “KOOL 97 FM” on November 1, 2001. It plays adult contemporary music, and provides hourly flight schedules and other information relevant to the travelling public. The listenership of station has grown significantly over the years and based on market survey, shows a strong market position.

The company is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of ten (10) directors who are independent and have diverse skill sets, experience and background which include local and international experience in aeronautics, law, business, management, finance, accounting, and human resource.

Vision Statement 

To provide Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) services to the aviation, transport, and other sectors in a manner that is financially viable, satisfies our customers, enables safe air travel, and positions AEROTEL as the leading provider of these services in Jamaica and the wider region.

Mission Statement 

We will innovate and deliver TMT engineering, support and operations services, specific to aviation traffic safety electronic personnel (ATSEP) and otherwise, through a well-trained and motivated staff and management team, to the highest relevant standards, particularly those of the International Civil Aviation Organization with efficiency, integrity and accuracy. Safety of our staff, the wider nation, its people and airspace, will always be a paramount consideration as we carry out our duties on behalf of the Government of Jamaica.
