| Position Summary | The A Class Technician is the most Senior Technical position in the Technician Grade of the Service Department. The job holder is expected to have experience and skills at mastery level and is required to diagnose, advise and carry out major repairs and maintenance on vehicles assigned to them from time to time without supervision. The Technician is also expected to: -Produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment and in accordance with company standards. -Be self-motivated to be able to achieve set targets e.g. productivity targets, showing flexibility according to the needs of the team. -Oversee the work of Apprentice Technicians assigned to their charge. -Adapt to changing technology and repair techniques. -Undergo internal/external training as required and pass relevant exams within specified timeframes. -Operate mechanical equipment and computer system. -Read, write, understand and communicate technical data. -Operate vehicles safely so as to not cause damage to, vehicle, property, people and self | ||
| Requirements | -Certificate in Auto Diesel Craft from a recognized institution -4 years practical experience with a recognized workshop -Valid driver’s permit (Class 3 & 4). -Valid defensive driving Certification. -Supervisory certification (desireble) -Strength – Reasonable level fitness in order to lift various objects not exceeding 40 lbs. -Flexibility- Must be able to bend, turn, squat and keel. -Standing- Must be able to stand for extended periods. -Vision- Must have good vision either normal or corrected in order to see small objects color-coded wiring, read diagrams etc. | ||
