The successful candidate will assist the Warehouse Manager in leadership, and warehousing coordination to ensure the receipt, storage, loading, transfer and shipping of products to customers.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will assist the Warehouse Manager in leadership, and warehousing coordination to ensure the receipt, storage, loading, transfer and shipping of products to customers. To efficiently and effectively manage safety, quality, reliability, productivity and costs utilising world-class warehouse management best practices and systems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • To guarantee the safety of all employees and food safety practices in the warehouse, by supporting

           the identification and elimination of all work-related safety and food safety hazards.

  • To identify, in conjunction with the EHS Officer, immediate and longer-term solutions for identified

           hazards across the wider organization and to ensure the support of necessary personnel (whether internal

           or external) for timely implementation of the solutions.

  • Scheduling weekly toolbox meetings and necessary training and refresher training for warehouse staff
  • To ensure warehouse space allocations through the efficient movement of goods and for maximizing

          allergen control adherence.

  • Ensure all goods are stored within recommended storage conditions.
  • Manage product staging areas for Production needs and Finished goods Transfers to the VemDC
  • Manage stock rotation policies and procedures.
  • Manage all pest control programs for the warehouse including records.
  • Maintain good sanitation practices and procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure that no product which presents a known or perceived risk to consumer or customer satisfaction

           must be released from the warehouse.

  • To immediately support the analysis of product non-conformances such that appropriate corrective

           actions may be identified and implemented.

  • To support the development and implementation of monitoring programs for the warehouse. This includes:
  • Routine inspections plans
  • Routine cleaning plans
  • Routine temperature monitoring
  • To support the development and application of annual maintenance and repair budgets for powered
  • industrial trucks, forklifts, and other equipment as necessary used in the warehouse.
  • To ensure that appropriate forms and check-sheets are available to the warehouse team for collection

           of inspection data and documentation of all activities.

  • To ensure that necessary corrective actions resulting from inspections are scheduled and executed in a

           timely manner

  • To consistently support the identification, development and implementation of the most efficient

           warehousing practices and procedures.

  • The analysis of product damages and wastage with a view to implementing or upgrading procedures to

           meet with current challenges. 

  • The development of warehouse procedures and control training programs aimed at deepening

           the competence of our warehouse personnel.

  • To support the continuous improvement of labour productivity utilising world class manufacturing

           initiatives such as 5S and visual management.

  • Manage all aspects of the proper management of all cold goods.
  • Support the picking and issuance of cold goods to Contract drivers.
  • Ensure procedures for receiving and returning cold goods are accurate with relevant

           documentation completed.

  • To ensure that all warehouse reports are completed accurately and on-time.
  • To ensure that all reports prepared by team members, are completed accurately and on-time.
  • To ensure that any non-routine reports requested by the Warehouse or designate are completed

           accurately and on-time.

  • Communicate daily activities and follow up actions to the Warehouse Manager or designate as necessary.
  • To support the development and execution of reward and recognition programs which are geared toward

           the improvement of employee morale.

  • Ensure employee management process for attendance and disciplinary actions are tracked and compiled

           for management review.

  • To perform any other related duties as guided by the Warehouse Manager 

 

Position Requirements: 

  • BSc. Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management and/or ACCA qualification and/or CIPS Advance Diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Warehousing role within a manufacturing environment including FEFO management, and stock taking and at least 1 of which should have been served in a supervisory capacity. (Experience in a food manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.)
  • Hands on experience with Warehouse Management software / database applications is an asset
  • Computer Literate with strong background in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in warehouse management KPIs, practices and principles
  • Capability to operate within HSE guidelines and best practices for warehouse powered industrial trucks
