The Warehouse Picker is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor in ensuring the highest level of productivity and efficiency by accurately picking inventory items in processing customer orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies items on individual picking slips according to location, description, size and quantity in order to accurately pick products.
  • Inspects for damage and expiry date and reports any resulting issues to the Inventory Control Clerk.
  • Ensures that orders are packed for safe delivery to customers with boxes properly marked and corresponding invoices attached.
  • Keeps designated storage areas locked and secure.
  • Assists Stockers with list of needed products daily to ensure that shelves are fully stocked at all times.
  • Assists Stockers in loading shelves as required.
  • Keeps work area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Executes any other duty assigned by management.


  • Organizational Relationships

    This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor (Picking & Packing) and interacts regularly with other warehouse staff.

    Requirements - Education and Experience

    The Warehouse Picker must have a high school diploma or general education certificate with one year's work experience. He/she must be courteous and have the ability to read and make color distinctions. The willingness to follow instructions and work in a team is essential.

    Physical and Emotional Demands

    He/she must have the physical ability and emotional intelligence to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job, which may include, but not limited to standing, bending, lifting and carrying loads up to 40 pounds. This is a position that requires dealing with difficult personalities and conflicts while maintaining a consistently professional and calm demeanor.
