The position will be responsible for overseeing all tax related decisions and activities, and Local Chief Accountant Management in the organization. 

 

Responsibilities:

Tax Management

  1. Work under the Central America and the Caribbean tax team; support Country CFO and the Tax Team in handling tax audits, including but not limited to coordinate field work, prepare paperwork, conduct analyses, and draft responses

  2. To be involved in regional project across Central America and the Caribbean subject to the team’s resource allocation and need

  3. Be responsible for providing tax opinion as the business needed.

  4. Be in charge of daily tax operation (including but not limited to tax filing, supervise tax calculation, prepare mandatory tax documents, provide support in business operations, review contracts and manage tax risk assessment) depending on the performance, covering the countries not limited to Jamaica, Haiti, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Martinique, Anguilla, Bermuda and so on.

  5. Take the lead in auditor interface management, including communication of all audit issues, audit progress management, and audit risk management.", include but not limited to below responsibilities

Local Chief Accountant Management 
  1. Manage on-site audit and be responsible for the management process.
  2. Lead the audit summary and track the closure of audit issues.
  3. In-depth analysis of statutory financial reports, identify audit risks in advance,
  4. Incorporated into the issue list for management.
  5. Cooperate with auditor

Job Responsibility is not exclusive and you may be required to carry out other job-related activities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years' of experience of professional tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of Jamaica legislation on tax
  • Proved experience in related job, preferably of relevant tax and audit experience within an international environment
  • Ability to prioritize works, problem solving
  • Proactive and feel comfortable to take initiatives and responsibility
  • Self-motivated, strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to think commercially and deliver results within deadline
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and to communicate tax and accounting requirements effectively to a non-technical audience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
