Job Overview: 

The Spa Manager has responsibility for managing the daily activities of the Spa. To interview and train staff, monitor the facilities; maintain stock inventories and payroll management. The Manager is also responsible for providing Spa menus, creating a tasteful environment as well as to be aware of current market trends in order to promote the spa in a creative and successful manner.

Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or Business Management.
  • 3-5 years experience at the management level in a spa, preferably in a 5-Star resort.
  • Training or license in various massage techniques, cosmetology and beauty treatments.
  • Previous experience as a therapist/aesthetician
  • A clear understanding of local health requirements

Essential Job Functions:
  • Overseeing the general running of the spa on a daily basis.
  • Having a thorough knowledge of the spa services.
  • Keeping abreast of spa industry trends.
  • Maintaining a strong menu of services with both artistic and aesthetic value.
  • Consistently create and grow sales through staff training.
  • Controlling ongoing service and product margin analysis to ensure profitability.
  • Ensuring the spa is always staged to portray the right image.
  • Always ensuring adequate staffing.
  • Handling guest complaints with courtesy and expediency.
  • Providing superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times.
  • Effectively trains staff so that they are able to consistently provide service that meets the service standards.
  • Projecting an exceptional level of professionalism for staff to emulate.
  • Planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Spearheading and maintaining an adequate inventory of spa supplies.
  • Carrying out management responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures.
