The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of sanitation operations within the facility. This includes developing and implementing sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, conducting inspections, and training sanitation staff.

Overview:

The Sanitation Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and compliance of our facility's operations. This position is responsible for overseeing all sanitation activities, developing procedures, training staff, and maintaining regulatory standards. The Supervisor collaborates closely with health and safety and quality assurance teams to uphold hygiene standards without compromising efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sanitation operations, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a sanitary and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sanitation procedures to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of production areas, equipment, and facilities to identify sanitation issues and areas for improvement.
  3. Train and supervise sanitation staff in proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and equipment operation.
  4. Monitor inventory of sanitation supplies and equipment, and coordinate procurement as needed.
  5. Maintain records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and chemical usage.
  6. Collaborate with health and safety and quality assurance teams to schedule sanitation activities without disrupting production schedules.
  7. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements related to sanitation, food safety, and environmental health.
  8. Investigate sanitation-related incidents or complaints and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  9. Conduct regular meetings with sanitation staff to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and address concerns.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to sanitation and hygiene.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in sanitation or food safety is a plus.
  • Proven experience in sanitation operations, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation principles, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as OSHA regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies (up to 50 pounds).
  • Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Work in varying temperatures and conditions, including wet and slippery surfaces.
