The Sales and Distribution Representative (SDR) will be responsible to effectively sell and distribute the company’s brands, acheiving desired targets; in a timely manner, according to terms established by the Department and the service standards of the Company.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monitor all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) on a timely basis to ensure achievement of business objectives.
  • Participate in the development of merchandising initiatives to promote the maximum performance and achievement of monthly and annual targets.
  • Constantly assess and propose new alternatives and initiatives that allow for provision of better support to clients and maximizes company resources.
  • Facilitate fluid and positive communication with key stakeholders (managers/peers/clients) to contribute to the achievement of company targets.
  • Effectively manage the resources provided by the company (vehicle, fuel, materials, etc.) to obtain higher benefits.
  • Drive significant value into customer relationships, and deliver extra ‘Yeses’ at the Point of Sale (POS)
  • Maintain updated data for clients to support the effective development and implementation of a POS coverage plan.
  • Carry out the sale of product to assigned outlets to meet daily, monthly and quarterly quotas, and ensure customers have a constant supply of stock.
  • Prepare Stock Requisition Forms to ensure adequate brands/quantities are loaded to meet required sales for the day.
  • Reconcile stocks and monies received from sales and prepare and submit lodgments to the bank at the end of each day.
  • Submits weekly and monthly reports to the Area Sales Manager (ASM) to identify changes in customer purchasing habits as needed.
  • Recommend to customers the ideal quantity and variety of brands to purchase to ensure good shelf/display exposure and avoid out of stock situations.
  • Establish quality working relationships with customers, to receive information on competition and build loyalty. 
  • Adhere to security requirements to ensure there is no breach at any time, thus protecting company assets.
  • Ensure the care and maintenance of the assigned vehicle according to company policy.
  • Adhere to the assigned route, ensuring visitation to customers in assigned sequence and on assigned day.
  • Ensure the achievement of the minimum number of visits for the assigned day as designated by the ASM.
  • To follow thoroughly all procedures related to the delivery system.
  • To manage efficiently objections that could occur with customers, submitting the problem to the Area Manager if necessary.
  • To support the business with own initiatives, that could help to improve the efficiency of our distribution system.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Secondary Education – School Leaving Certificate
  • 5 CXC/CSEC/GCE/CAPE (including Math and English)
  • At least 2 years Sales/Marketing experience.
  • Good sales & negotiation skills
  • Valid General drivers licence, proven motor vehicle driving experience of at least 2 years, and no outstanding traffic tickets
  • Good communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
