Job Description: Inside Sales Representative

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under guidance of your Manager, apply sales and pricing policies to assigned area; receive and process agent and client quote requests.
  • Telemarket 40 accounts per week and Intermodal Services, which must be updated in the CRM module in LARA within 24 hours. Closing of 10% of telemarketing efforts must be achieved per week which must include at least 3 new accounts per quarter.
  • Ensure that internal support is provided to Outside Sales (includes preparation of performance report per customer 24hrs before visit to client) upon request.
  • Promote CLIENT’s Services (Freight and value-added services),must be evidenced by accomplishing targets defined by Supervisor.
  • Ensure that SQ’s (Freight rates) assigned are updated and maintained. To revalidate by 21st of each month.
  • Ensure that quotations prepared are completed in accordance with company’s guidelines. Quotations being presented should be reviewed to ensure proper and accurate information from LARA.
  • Ensure that circulars/memos from HO are reviewed on an on-going basis to ensure that you are abreast of all current pricing and service offering.
  • Ensure that online training in the CLIENT’s academy is fully utilized.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding the client’s needs/expectations and to provide the appropriate service.
  • Ensure that all customers’ requests including freight quotations & service details are promptly handled within one (1) business day. In instances where it is beyond CCT’s control to respond within the stipulated time, proper communication such as e-mail should be used to ensure that the client is kept abreast of progress.
  • Ensure all rate quoted and sales leads are followed within one (1) business day.
  • Provide a courteous, professional and prompt service

 

Any queries or issues that could lead to loss/ risk of losing business should immediately be brought to the attention of the Supervisor/Manager e.g. threat of claim on delivery of cargo Re: Vessel

Omission as well as threat of loss account Re: Rate issue.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Business / Logistics an asset, with experience in business or marketing activities, ideally in a shipping environment. Suitable mix of qualifications and experience will be considered.
  • Must understand Account and key decision makers to ensure that the time spent with a client is productive.
  • Fluent in English and have good command of Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel). Organised and self-reliant, with entrepreneurship skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, communication, and team spirit.
