SALARY SCALE: $8,766,798.08 - $10,017,247.63 per annum.
JOB SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be required to manage the implementation of all electrical infrastructure and engineering projects being undertaken at the Authority’s facilities from concept to post evaluation. As the subject matter expert regarding electrical engineering activities, the incumbent plans and provides guidance to Project Officers in this regard, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure an integrated design of all electrical projects.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Electrical engineering principles, theories, and concepts
- Engineering safety practices; GOJ regulations governing the use of electrical equipment in business operations
- Government Electrical Inspectorate codes, regulations, standards, and requirements
- Statutory regulations as they apply to electrical equipment
- Programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- High and low voltage systems, AC/DC motors
- Contract administration
- Computer literacy to include MS Office, Auto CAD, Projects
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, specialising in power/control systems
- Project management certification PLUS
- Ten (10) years related working experience, 5 at a senior engineering level
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and manage the electrical engineering activities in the execution of the electrical components of all projects undertaken by the company from design to post-evaluation.
- Perform inspections to ensure safety, reliability and integrity of electrical systems/facilities, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled electrical audits and recommend improvement where necessary.
- Participate in the development of technical specifications for all electrical equipment; and advise if electrical specifications and drawings comply with established design methods and safety standards.
- Prepare tender documents, procurement requisitions and cost reports.
- Participate in evaluation of tenders.
- Monitor the performance of contractors and consultants to ensure timely and satisfactory discharge of contractual obligations and compliance with specifications.
- Any other duties assigned.
