The Merchandiser is responsible for creating an inviting and visually appealing shopping environment for our customers. Additionally, the Merchandiser greets customers, ensures proper pricing, stocking and merchandising shelves, maintain store tidiness, and engages with customers to enhance their shopping experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with finding products, answering inquiries, and encouraging sales.
  • Accurately label items with the correct prices, ensuring pricing consistency throughout the store.
  • Organize and maintain product displays on shelves and sales floor, ensuring products are correctly placed, well-stocked, and presented attractively.
  • Assist in keeping the store clean, organized, and hazard-free, including regular checks to address potential safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Merchandisers on retail space projects as needed, including setting up displays, arranging merchandise, and participating in storewide events.
  • Implement the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method to ensure product freshness and quality on the sales floor.
  • Monitor customer movements and assist with pilferage control to minimize theft and maintain the store's security.
  • Engage with customers proactively, offering assistance in finding products, suggesting complementary items, and enhancing their shopping experience.
  • Be prepared to assist with cashier duties as required during busy periods, such as processing transactions, bagging items, and ensuring smooth checkout experiences for customers.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels, reporting low stock or damaged items, and facilitating restocking.
  • Stay informed about current promotions, sales, and product offerings to better assist customers.
  • Implement visual merchandising strategies to create visually appealing displays and maximize the presentation of products.
  • Ensure product placement/displays do not create a risk for personal injury and adheres to the safety measures in the health and safety policy.
  • Keeps appropriate records relating to the discharge of his/her responsibilities.
  • Executes any other duty assigned by management.


  • Organizational Relationships

    This position reports to the Head Merchandiser/Store Supervisor and indirectly to the Retail Management team. He/she interfaces regularly with warehouse, receiving room, sales and marketing staff.

    Requirements - Education and Experience

    He/she must have a high school diploma or general education certificate and preferably two years' work experience. Basic understanding of the retail industry is desirable. He/she must be a self-motivated team player, have a professional demeanor with reasonable communication skills.
