POSITION SUMMARY:

The Restroom Attendant is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all Guest restrooms, showers, and smoking areas. This position ensures work areas are Guest-ready and restrooms are fully equipped with the appropriate sanitary items. This role also assists in the upkeep of offices, back-of-house areas, and housing on turnaround days as designated by the Island Operations Lead or Manager. The Restroom Attendant requires exemplary organization, customer service focus, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of the product and service standards.

All duties and responsibilities are performed following Royal Caribbean International's Brand Standards, the Royal Way philosophy, Company policies, and SOPs, Public Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Guidelines.

This Job Description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties performed by the Destination Team Member occupying this position. All Team Members may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their Supervisor or Management. The nature of this job requires daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains the cleanliness of the restroom facilities, showers, smoking areas, and follows proper washing and sanitation procedures.
• Washes worktables, walls, equipment, and all related surfaces and counters. Sweeps and mops floor. Always utilizes proper Public Health sanitation procedures. Reports any repairs or maintenance required to the Lead.
• Maintains integrity and does not leave the assigned station without permission from a Lead, to keep the position covered at all times.
• Follows opening and closing checklist to make work areas Guest-ready as per Company's standard. Completes cleaning logs during the day. Performs deep cleaning when instructed by the Lead.
• Cleans the beach showers daily and follows the showers' deep cleaning schedule.
• Practices proper cleaning techniques and always follows Chemical Management and PPE procedures to ensure own and others' safety.
• Assists the Lead to use a Biohazardous spill kit when required.
• Removes and segregates trash into designated containers. Deep cleans trash bins following proper Public Health sanitation procedures.
• Ensures that all trash has been removed by the trash collection Team at the end of the day before leaving the assigned work area.
• Ensures an adequate supply of soap, toilet tissue, chemical stock, and hand towels in the restroom facility.
• Retrieves supplies from the central location and restocks as needed recording all Inventory depletion accordingly.
• Collects and transports a variety of supplies between storage and work areas.
• Reports if any Guest is showing signs of sickness. Informs the Lead and Medical Team when help is required.
• Understands and can apply in work practices environmental policies and procedures, concerning such functions as collection, sorting, and disposal of solid wastes and use of chemicals associated with cleaning.
• Participates in trainings and meetings. Adheres to a Company confidentiality agreement.
• Acknowledges and greets Guests, Visitors, and Team Members in public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting.
• Ensures personal appearance, personal hygiene, and uniform appearance are always by Company policy.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for Guests and fellow Team Members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• School Diploma or equivalent vocational training.
• Experience in housekeeping operations in a hotel, resort, or cruise ship is preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse international team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The Team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• All Destination Team members must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
