Our Client, an organisation in the Banking & Financial Services sector, is seeking to fill the position of Manager, Capital Markets.

Summary

The Manager, Capital Markets will lead the company's funding strategy through the development and sale of asset-backed securitised investment products and serve as the subject matter expert for all new products and the management of the assets in the company's product portfolio. Responsible for generating ideas and opportunities through research, financial modelling and industry analysis, establishing and growing relationships with potential and existing customers and investors.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and directs the team responsible for the Company’s investment product development pipeline and asset management processes: Leads the development and pricing of structured financial products from asset-backed securities; Verifies that product development is based on sound forecasting, simulation exercises and testing of alternative scenarios; Negotiates and leads the execution of agreements and deal documentation; Directs and coordinates with the Legal/Corporate Secretarial Department and regulatory agencies for the preparation of required documents and approvals with respect to the Company’s securitised products; Grows total revenue associated with structured financial products.
  • Drives the effective asset and fund management efforts of the Company: Meets and exceeds targets by sourcing new sales opportunities; Closes new business opportunities; Drives the products’ marketing efforts and communicates their value proposition in collaboration with the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department; Leads the identification, assessment and selection of high performing assets to be packaged for the Company’s securitised investment products; Manages the administration of securitised investments on behalf of investors.
  • Develops initiatives to improve business and revenue generation, market share, and achievement of goals and strategic objectives: Develops and manages the strategic and annual business plans for the Capital Markets Department; Keeps abreast of latest industry best practices, technology trends, regulatory policy changes, business, industry and economic conditions; Identifies and recommends opportunities for alternative service delivery and channel strategies (e.g. digital channels); Identifies and analyses industry and/ or geographic trends with strategy implications for the company; Keeps abreast of technology trends to identify markets for future product development or to improve sales of existing products through technology.
  • Develops, reviews, amends and implements departmental policies and procedures: Supports the achievement of the Company’s risk and control objectives; Verifies the monitoring and closure of any identified risk and operational issues; Sets standards and processes for operational excellence and continuous improvement to achieve optimal efficiency.
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits reports as required by the Company and Regulatory Agencies; Monitors product portfolio performance, compliance and risk infrastructure; Verifies the completion of required reviews and reports; Provides timely reports for all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, meetings, presentations, closed sales and follow up/pipeline activities; Reviews and submits reports and dashboards that drive an understanding of the ongoing financial performance of the company’s investment products for management reporting; Reviews and submits regular sales reports and analyses, including sales metrics statistics, sales leads records and conversion rates; Verifies the development of cash flow project models for all structured financial products’ transactions in accordance with the Company’s strategic and operational plans; Provides required reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with external stakeholders to grow the company’s business line: Builds and maintains strong relationships with regulators, institutional investors including corporations, financial institutions and fund managers; Develops a network of clients.
  • Manages a high performing team of professionals within the Capital Markets department; Performs human resource management responsibilities; Provides timely coaching and training; Adheres to the Company’s performance management practices and providing development opportunities for employees.

  

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • A minimum 7 years’ experience in capital markets and investments.
  • Previous experience as a people manager.
  • Extensive knowledge of the securities and capital markets, securitisation, structured finance, risk management and portfolio management
  • Extensive experience in client relationship management
